Richard Lundgren

Richard Lundgren - Biography

is a nationally recognized pastel artist. His paintings have won national awards in 26 juried competitions. These include the top award in the Degas Pastel Society show in 2006 and 2004 and the Gold Award at the International Association of Pastel Societies show in Raleigh, NC in 2005 and again in 2008 at the Butler Institute of American Art. He was awarded signature membership in the Pastel Society of America in 2004. In 2007 he was awarded Master Circle status in the International Association of Pastel Societies. His work has appeared in The Pastel Journal. American Artist, International Artists and Pastel Artist International magazines. He was one of the featured artist in Maggie Price's 2011, book, Painting Sunlight & Shadow With Pastels.

Education

Attended workshops by Doug Dawson, Maggie Price, Sally Strand, Daniel Greene, Albert Handell, Lorenzo Chavez, Christina Debarry. Graduated Bowling Green State University with BS in Art Education (1963); studied drawing and design, Art Institute of Chicago (1962); completed painting and drawing classes University of North Florida (2000-2001).
