Maggie Price's new book, Painting Sunlight & Shadow with pastel, has just been released. I was fortunate to have been one of five artists selected to contribute ideas and several "how to" demonstrations to the book. I think you will find a wealth of different ideas and techniques included in this book. In the book I describe how I painted the portrait of "Luke & Jake. Having just been a contributor, I can't only begin to appreciate all the work Maggie put in this effort.  It will make a great addition to any artists collection.   

The Degas Pastel Society paint out will begin with a meet and greet reception oudtside the gates of the Botanical Garden from 9-10 a.m. I will begin my demo shortly after the gates open at 10 a.m. The demo and the paint out are free and admission to the Garden are free of charge, but participants must arrive before 10 a.m. to get tickets from the DPS. Later arrivals will have to pay an admission of $6.
